Getting to know me + Power Yogurt

It's Monday.  Not just any Monday... the Monday after daylight-savings... UGH! It was so hard to pry myself out of bed this morning!  I did it, though I was about 10 minutes late to work.   And yet, I was still the first one here. It seems everyone had a hard time getting out of bed this Monday morning!  Janetha (a new blogger I found this weekend!) created a survey on her blog, and provided a template so others could copy it to their own blogs. So here's a little "getting to know me" info:

A is for age: 31... I like to think, a "Young" 31. Ha!

B is for breakfast today: Kashi's Mayan Harvest Bake... (mmmm!) with Green Tea.

C is for currently craving: Nothing at the moment. But last night I was TOTALLY craving a burger!  I must've needed the iron or protein or something.  So, hubby, Babycakes and I ventured out to Chili's and I had the Classic Bacon Burger (with no bun) with their fire-roasted-corn guacamole and grilled corn on the cob.  It was heavenly!!  Probably the biggest meal I've eaten in 2 weeks though, which is why I did NOT step on the scale this morning!

D is for dinner tonight: Such hard questions!  This would require planning, which I usually don't do too much of during the work week.  BUT, I did take out some steaks to thaw last night (must've been that red meat craving!).  So we'll probably grill steaks and have them over a spinach salad.

E is for favorite type of exercise: Favorite and exercise in the same sentence? UGH. I guess I'd have to say the kind of exercise that doesn't mentally "feel" like exercise... like going on a long hike, working super hard but enjoying the scenery and company just as much.

F is for an irrational fear: I hate spiders.  But I don't think this is a totally irrational fear... since some spiders can KILL YOU!  I lived in Malaysia for a summer... in a room full of spiders.  It was my nightmare come true.  I even got bit and had to go to the Malaysian "hospital"... I lived, but the fear remains.

G is for gross food: I grew up in the South, but I hate Okra and grits.  So mushy. So gross!

H is for hometown: Roswell, Georgia... but it's weird, I have zero Southern accent.

I is for something important: Babycakes & Dear Hubby!

J is for current favorite jam: At first I thought this was talking about actual jam... and I was thinking, I don't use jam - too much sugar.  But, alas, I think it's talking about music.  Right now I'm digging Jewel's kid cd - catchy, thoughtful lyrics.  I also like Taylor Swift, Britt Nicole, and a few other upbeat, pop-y, happy singers :)

K is for kids: Babycakes - 19 months old TODAY.  I didn't realize how completely life changing motherhood would be, but I love who I'm becoming and love my little munchkin soooooooooo much and watching her grow, laugh, and find delight in this crazy world.

L is for current location: In my office.  Door closed.  Having my "lunch" - no actual eating, just blogging :)

M is for the most recent way you spent money: Tar-get.  I had to ban myself from stepping foot in a Target for an entire month b/c every time I go in there, money just FLIES out of my pocket.  There's just soooooooo much good stuff there!  Yesterday's trip included: a bag of mixed nuts, fresh strawberries, new pjs for Babycakes that have little birdies and suns on them that say "Mommy's Little Sunshine"... awwww, an Easter basket and plastic eggs to hide for Babycakes, oh and a new set of "chip clips"... I am always looking for one of those... now I have 8 colorful ones to choose from.  (I am not a chip connoisseur, I promise! I use them for dog food, flour, pirate's booty, etc...)

N is for something you need: A maid.  Or at least someone to keep up with dishes and laundry better than me.  The clean laundry pile is taking over our upstairs landing! (At least it's all clean, but it takes about 23 minutes to find two matching socks.)

O is for occupation: I'm an accountant by day, a full-time mom, wife, and blogger by night.

P is for pet peeve: I am quite peeved when people say they're going to do something and then don't. Peeved, annoyed, MAD!  Better to just keep your mouth shut than to promise something you don't intend to do.

Q is for a quote:

R is for random fact about you: My college degree is Math, and I have a license to teach high school.  The problem? I decided I don't really like teenagers and all that drama all that much!

S is for favorite healthy snack: Power Yogurt!  Today's snack: Greek yogurt with strawberries and goji berries, topped with fresh strawberries and a blend of: Roasted Almonds, Pumpkin Kernals, Walnuts, Pistachios, and Pecans.

T is for favorite treat: I love peanut butter.  I'd have to say my favorite treat would be a half sandwich of pb & honey & sliced bananas with a small glass of milk.  So decadent!

U is for something that makes you unique: I am a math nerd (turned accountant) but also an artist.  I love oil painting.  Here's a couple of my paintings:

V is for favorite vegetable:  I love them all!!  I probably most commonly munch on bell peppers though. Dipped in edamame hummus... mmmm!

W is for today’s workout: In addition to walking to the playground and running around with Babycakes, I will probably do a video tonight... maybe Jillian's 30 day shred.

X is for X-rays you’ve had:  Nothing exciting... teeth are about it at the dentist. Oh, and when I was 4 I broke my arm taking my shoe off.  Don't ask!

Y is for yesterday’s highlight: Playing outside ALL day with Babycakes!

Z is for your time zone:  MST... bracing myself for the inevitable March snowstorm... UGH!  For now I'll enjoy the 70s and sunshine though!

And that's it!  Whew.  Hopefully you enjoyed reading and getting to know me a little bit more :)
