To my sweet baby girl

By the time you read this Monday morning, I will be in Arizona. I flew down to help my mom organize/pack/simplify my grandmother's house. I couldn't stand the idea of her doing it alone. So I hopped on a plane and here I am.  I'm so glad to be a support to my mother...to be an extra set of hands...and to just be with her, even if it is just discussing which 20 markers out of 432 we should keep.  As for traveling, it wasn't such a big deal before I had a child. Now I know more is at stake. I wrote this letter to Babycakes the last time I flew alone, when she was just a year old, that I thought I would share.  So much of it still applies, and I hope you enjoy it.

To my sweet baby girl,

I wanted to write you a letter...heaven forbid- in case something happens to me. I absolutely love you with all of my heart. You bring joy to my life and a sparkle to my eye. You are soooo beautiful inside and out.  You are so passionate and fiesty and AMAZING. And you're so smart!! You have your whole life ahead of you. As much as I can, I will help you to realize and live out your dreams. I hope you find love and a deep relationship with God, and that you learn to cherish all the little things in life. Me, I love bold colors and flowers-- which is why I was drawn to this card.

Poppies are so bright and jubilant -- just like you!

Be strong and courageous, my dear!! I will be with you always, helping you along, cheering you on and celebrating all your momentous occasions.  Don't rush through life. Be in the moment. Love those around you. Shine.

And last but not least...thank you.

Thank you for making me (changing me) into who I am today.

It is because of you that I am finally realizing who I am and what's really important in life.

I really can't say I love you enough.

I love you.

I love you.

I LOVE YOU!!!!!!

I want to constantly smother your neck with kisses, sing you a thousand "twinkle twinkles," and celebrate who you become.

You make my heart full, Babycakes.

<3, Mommy.

I'm sure I'll add to this in the future, but for now it's a good start.  As for blogging and recipe creation: I promise when I safely return back to my mountain home in a few days, Babycakes and I will work on a new wonderful recipe for you. :)
